Next Generation Telecoms Africa Summit 2011 Provided The Framework For New Business Ventures
3rd November, Bristol, UK -- Next Generation Telecoms Africa, which took place from 13th – 15th September the Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa, South Africa, provided leading executives the chance to establish strong business relationships, which will see the start of many innovative and exciting new ventures.
The summit saw senior level executives from telecom companies across Africa meet to discuss their technology and management objectives in a relaxed and vibrant environment. Speakers included leading industry professionals such as George Ambler, Executive Partner, Gartner; Abdoulkarim Soumaila, Secretary General, African Telecommunication Union; and Frank Patterson, Manager, Video Infrastructure Presales, EMEA, Motorola Mobility. As well as Motorola, other leading telecoms companies including Cambridge Broadband Networks, Oracle, and Aricent sponsored the event.
Technology executives had ample opportunity to network with peers. Frank Patterson of Motorola Mobility said of the event, “Absolutely first-class. You’re able to meet so many qualified people under one roof at the same time in one event. There was enough time to have one-on-one meetings with all of these executives personally. Tremendous.”
As well as comprehensive workshops, the summit involved panel discussions offering executives moderated, peer-led discussions on major industry issues. One-to-one meetings gave delegates the chance to meet with business analysts and analyst partners to discuss strategy and technology demands for a rapidly evolving industry.
A total of 15 workshops covered a range of exciting and pressing topics for the telecommunications industry. Topics included monetising new business opportunities, mobile data, Wimax, LTE, spectrum availability, energy saving solutions, and much more.
