November Welcomes an Unprecedented Delegation of Thought Leaders from across North America for GDS International's Upcoming FST Summit

11 September 2012

11th September 2012, Texas, NORTH AMERICA: On the 13th to the 15th of November 2012, a selection of North America's most senior executives from in and around the financial services sector will settle into the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, San Antonio, Texas for two days, as they propose a range of next generation solutions to the key issues faced be thought leaders in the sector today. Hosted by GDS International, the Financial Services Technology US (FST US) event is one of the most hotly anticipated events in the FST calendar this year.

Only the most senior thought leaders attend GDS International's summits, and this year's event will be no different. Some of the delegates scheduled for attendance include: Brian Clark, CTO at Moody's; Joe Ferlisi, MD for Bank of America; Jeff Von Gillern, Vice Chairman Technology and Operations for US Bank; and Helen Polatajko, CIO for CIBC-Mellon; and Dante DeWitt, CIO for BMO Harris. The delegation will be complimented by a selection of dynamic sponsors, who include VMWare, Siemens, RIM Blackberry, Accenture and Akami Technologies, to name a few.

The event will cover a range of contemporary topics that are proving to be of key importance for the decision maker this year. Some of the most talked about matters scheduled for discussion include: core banking transformation; big data, and the reams of generated structured and unstructured data; enterprise mobility; BYOD; and mobile device management.

Rakesh Nugam, Managing Director for Barclays Capital was an attendee at last year's event, and found real return on investment. In his own words: "I think it's phenomenal – I really enjoyed it. The summit's been informative and useful and I've met a lot of great contacts." In agreement, James Lee, Managing Director for UBS, says: "The quality of the delegates has been fantastic. I haven't been to a summit like this before."

The summit is set to provide the perfect environment for key decision makers to liaise and collaborate with their peers, discuss organisational strategies for the future and establish meaningful working relationships with a dynamic selection of delegates, vendors and sponsors. Offering an alternative to the traditional conference format, the summits provide true innovation and value for money.

Nick Atrey, FST US Summit Director for GDS International – the global events company behind the event – says: "The November 2012 program will be our 14th summit for the North American financial services community and we wouldn't have come this far had it not been for the support of our analyst partners, IDC Financial Insights, our ever growing group of senior IT executives from the financial services institutions and the equally important group of leading technology and services companies that have sponsored our summits for the last ten years."

He continues: "A special mention must be given to the CIOs and CTOs that form our Advisory Board, and have helped us shape the content and agenda for the event to ensure that it is truly independent and end-user led. Our goal is to become the premier gathering for the financial services industry and if the November summit is anything to go by, we are well on our way!"
