Presentation title/s: ‘New Demands on Next Generation Network and How to Address Them’ Login to view presentation Synopsis: Video and other real-time services are beginning to get deployed in fiber networks. Services such
as triple play, digital TV distribution and gaming are generating new growth. These new services are
driving demands on Next Generation Networks (NGNs). Introducing TV and video, even HDTV video, pushes
the need for both high capacity networks and strict QoS. Video traffic is finally beginning to fill up
our large fiber networks.
This presentation will show how NGN Technology, based on GMPLS (Generalized Multi Protocol Label
Switching), efficient Ethernet functionality and Next Generation SDH/SONET in combination with IP/MPLS
can radically change the economics, both in terms of OPEX and CAPEX, of offering these services over
the existing public networks. With an NGN you can get a unified view and control plane for your entire
network and guaranteed quality of service, even with a maintained high utilisation (>95%) of the
network. |
